Message From The Board

Good Afternoon and Happy last day of March!
We would like to send out a few updates as well as a few requests today...

Brockton Baseball has over 300 kids registered as of this weekend and we are so looking forward to
providing not only a great season of baseball but also a positive experience for you,
your children, and our community. As most of you know we are a volunteer organization with
nonprofit status which means we are 100% run by volunteers and make no profit. We have very
generous sponsors who donate so that that our overhead costs remain low and we can pass
that down via a reasonable registration fee. We hope that you visit these sponsors throughout the
season...not only the one’s on your child’s jersey, but also the sponsors on banners, other player’s
jerseys, our website, and Facebook as well.

Field permits start this week. We would ask coaches to send concerns to the board if something
is not safe and we will work with the Parks Dept. and they will be working this month on getting them
ready. Also, they are very muddy so please do not be on them unnecessarily.

Here it is....our big request of the day....We need VOLUNTEERS! We have Board positions
open, coaching spots open, we will have field clean up and maintenance, and concessions to
do in season, we have fundraising endeavors coming up and we seriously cannot do it with
out your help. Please. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can’t...we get it and we are not looking
for you to over commit yourselves, but simply look at what maybe you can assist with at whatever
availability you can provide.

We cannot have teams without head coaches at any level, what this means in real terms is
potential cuts or large roster sizes which may happen at the Babe Ruth level and at the T-ball and Rookie
levels; we will have to manage the levels into more of a clinic learning format rather than just practices
and games.

We have 28 days until Opening Day, less time to get coaches certified. If you are interested in
volunteering, especially head coaching at T-ball, Rookie, and or Babe Ruth levels, please email
the league at [email protected].

The requirements are that you can complete the CORI check process, complete a training
course (1.5hrs) at our cost....and that you will help us show this great game of baseball to a
wonderful community of children and parents.

Thanks for taking a few moments to read this and consider our plea
